Oklahoma Governor Continues to Veto Life

The sooner in "Sooner Patriot," should tip you off that I reside in the "Sooner" state.  Yes, it's Oklahoma.  At approximately 11:59pm Wednesday night, our governor, who claims to represent Oklahoma values, vetoed a bill to make any testing on embryonic stem cells a misdemeanor.  In response Rep. Mike Reynolds, R-Oklahoma City said, "if these people value money more than human life, then they need to find another state, or even another country."  I agree.  There have been 0, zero, nada, zilch advancements made with embryonic stem cell research.  On a recent episode of Oprah, with Michael J. Fox, "Dr. Oz," the director of the cardiovascular institute at Columbia University Medical Center made said that embryonic stem cells were hard to control and could cause cancer.  Adult stem cells on the other hand have actually given us treatments for various diseases, like Leukemia or spinal cord injuries.  Why are people so obsessed with embryonic stem cells.  I believe that it comes from a desire to legitimize abortion and to make humans a commodity.  One reason that our governor gave for the veto is that it would hurt the state's ability to attract biotech companies and federal research dollars to the state of Oklahoma.  We need to reconsider our priorities here.  The left always seems to want us to "think about the children."  I'm thinking about the children alright.  I want to save them from butchers. I heard recently that there is a 32 million person gap between males and females.  There is the possibility that 32 million young Chinese men will not have the opportunity to find a bride.
